Mackenzie is a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) passionate about working to improve the quality of life for others by enhancing the communication skills of children, adolescents, and their families. She aims to foster meaningful relationships and life experiences for each of her clients. Her values and goals align directly with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s (ASHA) Vision Statement – “Making effective communication, a human right, accessible and achievable for all.” Mackenzie is devoted, dedicated, and truly cares about each client and family that comes her way!
Mackenzie demonstrates significant experience serving children from preschool, elementary, middle, and high school ages ranging from mild to severe speech and language delays/impairments. She also works extensively with the birth-3 population providing early intervention services utilizing the family-coaching model to support best outcomes through caregiver training and ongoing collaboration. She demonstrates ongoing professional training and skills working with clients presenting a wide-range of speech and language impairments (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorders, developmental delays, articulation/phonological disorders, motor-speech disorders & Childhood Apraxia of Speech, fluency disorders/stuttering, etc.). She works to implement high-quality, evidenced-based interventions within home, classroom, and community-based settings.
Mackenzie graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders, where she was awarded the Louis DiCarlo Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement. She also graduated summa cum laude from Temple University with a Master of Arts in Speech-Language-Hearing Science. She completed a Master’s thesis project, which was part of a larger study published in the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research under the guidance of Dr. Edwin Maas. Mackenzie received the ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE), awarded to professionals committed to ongoing, lifelong education by earning at least 70 hours of professional development coursework within a 36-month period in 2020. During her free time, Mackenzie enjoys devoting time to relationships with her family, friends, and energetic puppy! She values community involvement and volunteers to support and organize local running races, coach youth sports, and participates in faith-based community groups. Mackenzie loves reading, writing, running, hiking, biking, yoga, and exploring the community around her!
